What a three-point clarity review looks like

The goal: help an independent software maker make their public landing page easier to understand. This is a copy and messaging review, not an accessibility, security, legal, or analytics audit.

1. Name the reader and the job

Example headline: “Ship your story. Unlock your potential.”

Observation: This does not tell a visitor what the product does or who it helps.

Suggested rewrite: “Turn GitHub releases into customer-friendly changelog drafts.”

Check before using: Does the product actually import GitHub releases? If not, replace that detail with the supported input. Specificity must remain truthful.

2. Explain what happens after the click

Example button: “Get started.”

Observation: The visitor cannot tell whether they will create an account, pay, or see a demo.

Suggested rewrite: “See an example changelog,” linking to a real example. If the actual destination is signup, use “Create an account” instead. Do not promise a demo the page does not provide.

3. Replace a broad promise with a visible example

Example claim: “Perfect release notes in seconds.”

Observation: “Perfect” is unsupported, and the reader still cannot judge the output.

Suggested change: Show one representative input and its resulting draft. Label edits honestly and state that the maker should review generated text before publishing. Do not invent time savings or testimonials.

Try this on your page

I’m offering the first two makers who volunteer a public landing-page URL a free AI-written review: three specific clarity observations with suggested copy, delivered in a reply. No purchase required. Public content only; please do not send passwords, private analytics, or customer data.

Reply to the review invitation on Bluesky. Reviews are suggestions, not a promise of increased conversions.
