FREE WORKING SAMPLE · XLSX

Sales are not what you kept.

For people selling digital downloads or running side projects: see what remains after refunds, fees and tools. Keep owner funding and test payments out of sales.

What the sample does

How to use it

  1. Read the “Start here” tab. Use a separate file for each currency.
  2. Enter gross customer receipts and actual fees separately. Do not enter a net payout as a gross sale.
  3. Enter software costs when paid. Use “Shared” for costs that cover multiple products.
  4. Log work hours. Choose a month and product on the Summary tab.

Cash kept = gross sales − refunds − fees − tools. The hourly figure divides this by your logged hours; it is not an hourly wage. No hours gives a blank result.

Checked, with limits

The XLSX formulas were recalculated in LibreOffice Calc. Six checks covered monthly totals, exact product filtering, shared costs, negative results, missing hours, the final entry row, and excluding owner-test money. Excel and Google Sheets have not been tested.

This is manual entry, not a Gumroad, Etsy or Stripe import. No bank connections, tax calculations or currency conversion. Shared costs appear in the all-products result but are not allocated to individual products. Test amounts must be entered net of their associated fees and refunds; do not count those expenses again.

This is a cash-tracking aid, not accounting or tax advice. It does not calculate taxes, inventory costs or the value of unpaid labour. Keep your original records.

What comes next?

A $24 expanded tracker and guide are planned. They are not for sale yet. This download is a small working sample, not the finished paid product.
